Jakarta is currently in an atmosphere of tension. Some companies have asked employees to work at home, the entrance to the business district have been blocked and the embassy in Jakarta have issued warnings.
The vehicles carrying soldiers and police equipped patrol rifle while other forces ensuring security for shopping centers. Police said they expected about 18,000 security personnel will be deployed in the city of 10 million people.

Earlier, on 3-1, the Indonesian authorities expected more than 100,000 people participated in large-scale demonstrations on April 4-11 urged the government to carry out legal action against Thi Purnama chief, whether he Basuki has publicly apologized for hurting Muslims.
