According to the US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the two black holes are difficult to detect because hidden in the cloud of gas and dust. They are located in the center of the two galaxies, NGC 1448 and IC titled 3639
NGC 1448 is a galaxy of us "only" 38 million light years from our 3639 IC was 170 million light years. Both galaxies are classified as "active", which emits intense radiation.
