Dinh La Thang, 57 years old, has a doctorate in Nam Dinh. He is a member of the Xth Party Central Committee, XI, XII; Member of the 11th National Assembly, XIII. He was elected to the Politburo at the first plenum of the XII Central Committee in January 2016. In early February 2016, he was appointed by the Politburo as the Party Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City.
