Barack Obama has warned Donald Trump of Michael Flynn's status in his first meeting in the Oval Office, the White House, AFP quoted a Obama administration official today as saying. Warning "based on Flynn's leadership of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)."
Mr Obama appointed Flynn to the DIA then fired.
Despite warnings from Obama, Trump chose Flynn as national security advisor, the top US presidential security and foreign policy assistant. Flynn held the position for 24 days and was sacked by President Trump for failing to make a sincere statement about his contacts with the Russian ambassador to Washington.
Former US Attorney Sally Yates has a hearing before the Senate on May 8. Yates is scheduled to announce that she also warned Flynn's Trump team in January.
President Trump fired Yates shortly after taking office. He attacked Yates on Twitter early this morning, accusing her of leaking confidential information
