The tower was recently awarded the "Skyscraper Awards 2015" by Emporis Real Estate.

The jury of the award said they chose this tower for excellence in design and function.

At 631.8m high, the Shanghai Tower is the second tallest building in the world after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The construction of the tower took nearly seven years at an estimated cost of $ 2.4 billion.
