Date 18/03/1984, two masked men kidnapped Katsuhisa Ezaki, CEO manufacturing company Glico candy and ransom a billion yen. Ezaki had escaped before the ransom is paid, according to Historic Mysteries.

However, that is only the beginning for a series of disturbing events later. May 4/1984, a number of vehicles parked outside of Glico headquarters burned and the surrounding area were also destroyed.

A month later, Glico received threatening letters signed "21 Monster face" (so-named after the villain in the popular detective novels), threatened that Glico candy will be injected cyanide. Glico candy decision to withdraw from all grocery stores across Japan, causing damage to the company $ 21 million and more than 450 part-time workers were laid off.

Police have a few clues. Security cameras at a grocery store recorded images a man of Glico products put up shelves. He wears a baseball cap and could not identify. But only one man in the footage, police believe more than one person behind the incident.

"Monster" seems to enjoy before the panic and insecurity they cause. They sent a taunting police and media. "Send to flood the police stupid. Do not lie. As we often say the Japanese, all crime starts with a lie, you know what? You guys seem very confused," a letter one reads.

This incident makes people scared and Morinaga was heavy financial losses.

May 11/1984, "Monsters" again demanded 100 million yen and the amount of money required to be put in a bucket marked with white cloth on Meishin Expressway Otsu area. The police were ambushed here and discovered the "lattice" but lost track of him again.

Despairing of deadlock in the case, May 8/1985, Yamamoto, Shiga Prefecture police leaders, set themselves on fire. 5 days later, the "Monster" last letter sent to the media:

"Yamamoto, Shiga Prefecture police, has died. He's so stupid! We do not have a friend or a secret hideout in Shiga. Yoshino or Shikata (referring to police in other provinces) has deserved to die. what they have done in the past 5 months a year? do not let the bad guys as we escape the crime.

There are idiots want to copy us. Yamamoto died as a man. So, our condolences and decided to abandon torturing food companies. If there is anyone extortion food companies later, it is not us that are just imitators. We are the bad guys, it means that we have more work to do than to bully companies. Live life interesting bad guys - 21 Monster face ".

After this letter, "Monster" completely disappeared. So after 17 months of manipulation, the perpetrator will never be found.

Although the case has been closed, it still raises a lot of debate and conspiracy theories. Some suggest that the culprit is the Japanese Yakuza groups such as the Yamaguchi-gumi and Ichiwa-kai, the group is involved in gang war period the incident. Others have said that it is the activities of extremist groups leftist or rightist, or is a ruse of unscrupulous investors to manipulate the stock market. There are a number of conspiracy theories that it was the secret agent of Korea tried to sabotage the economy of Japan and is a secret organization has a range of activities throughout the world.

The case became one unsolved case the most famous in the history of Japan. "Monster face 21" is? What do they really want? Why are they targeted at the confectionery company? This is simply extortion or something more? The whereabouts of the "lattice"? All are still a mystery. Thank you for leaving valuable comments
