Singapore tops the rankings of education, Vietnam surpassed the US, Germany

Singapore has become the first nation education rankings systematic global assessment of Pisa Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

According to the BBC, the program of international student assessment (PISA), also known as the OECD Pisa rankings held once every three years, based on tests of 15-year-old students in more than 70 countries.

OECD education director, Mr. Andreas Schleicher, said that Singapore "not only did a great job, but will also go further".

In Pisa rankings, Singapore has won the top spot in all of the Pisa test, pass the schools in Asia, Europe, Australia, North America and South America.

Along with Singapore, Asian countries continue to dominate the top of the rankings this year Pisa.

In math, followed by Singapore's leading position as Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, China and Korea.

Mr Schleicher said that Asian countries such as Singapore have achieved excellent educational results without a large difference between the students come from poor families or wealthy.

Notably, Schleicher OECD education director also described the achievements of Vietnam "very noticeable" when quality Vietnam students pass both students in Germany and Switzerland in the field of science and overcome learning US students in science and math.

Why Singapore success in education?

Professor Lee Sing Kong, vice-president of Nanyang Technological University, also is home to the National Institute of Education in Singapore, said the core element for the success that is the teaching standards.

Professor Lee said: "Singapore invested a lot for the quality of teaching staff, in order to enhance the prestige and status of teaching, and also to attract the best bachelor".

Singapore recruit their teachers from 5% of the best graduates in a centralized system is very high.

All teachers are trained at the National Education Institute and Professor Lee said the only route to this training to ensure quality control and made all new teachers can "confidently stand Class".
